Swiss Biotech Day 2023
The Swiss Biotech Day in Basel got the congress center fully packed. As one of the leading biotechnology conferences in Europe, the Swiss Biotech Day 2023 set a new benchmark with close to 1,800 participants from 44 nations. It was the perfect stage to demonstrate the impressive power of the Swiss biotech industry in the middle of Europe.
The Swiss biotech industry continued to demonstrate its resilience, adapting well to geopolitical upheaval, and remains a key driver of innovation for global healthcare, as the presented Swiss Biotech Report outlined. The Swiss Biotech Association celebrated its 25thanniversary and highlighted 25 major achievements of the industry, a selection that emphasizes the diversity of modalities that have been developed over time and the broad range of medical needs they help to address. Today, 20% of European biotech companies have their headquarters in Switzerland, the Global Village at the Swiss Biotech Day helped to further strengthen relationships between country delegations and Switzerland.
It was a real pleasure to honor the winners of the Swiss Biotech Success Stories awards, Sophia Genetics and Humabs BioMed/Vir Biotechnology, and to meet and chat at the ‘Apéros’ or lunch.
